This is the new home on the Internet for Point Blank Submissions. This site will be a resource for finding out about what is happening with the Point Blank club, how are our fighters doing at home and abroad, and for those interested in joining for the first time it holds a tonne of useful information about how our classes work and the friendly environment you will find at the Point Blank Gym in Galway. So whether you are a hardened vet, a novice or someone looking for a fun way to keep fit, this website is the right place to start.
Benjamin "Son of Life" Davis takes to the Cage once more this Saturday on the 4th installmant from the Spartan Promotion. Taking place in the Tullyglass Hotel in Ballymena this event is sure to be another sold out affair with a large number of IMMA fighters on the bill, the IMMA fights out of Ballymena, so they will be the local fan favorites of the night.
Ben's opponent is Jonny McGillion of Ultimate Jiu Jitsu, Ben will be his 4th opponent, has shown great ability in all three ranges and is becoming better rounded each time he takes to the cage. This is sure to be a blaster, as we have come to expect from Ben.
The main event at this show will be Point Blank's Kevin "The Sandman" Moran, he takes on a long standing friend of Point Blank Gym Clive Staunton, many of you will remember Clive from last year's Summer Camp and his Thai Boxing workshop on the Sunday morning. Clive is a tremendous fighter who has never had a boring match. Kevin is also a great entertainer in the ring and these two mates will no doubt put on a worthy main event for the County Antrim crowd.
Also fighting on the card is the best kept Bantam secret at Point Blank, Enda Fenton. Enda started training a number of years ago at the gym and has been as constant as the North Star in coming to training and putting in 100% every time. He has earned his stripes on the MMA League circuit and made his ring debut at the Fight Before Christmas last December. Enda has improved tremendously since that win and is eager to get into the cage. His opponent fights out of Red Dragon MMA in Antrim Town and will be a handful, another great match up for Saturday.
Results will be posted as they happen to my Twitter Feed so if you haven't made your Twitter account, grab one now and you will get the results right after they happen.
So if you see the boys in the gym in the next couple of days be sure and wish them the very best of luck!

If nothing else ye can slag my dancing despite the lessons
Operation: Strike begins on Monday the 11th of May at 8pm, and continues in all the Intermediate classes.
What is it? Will it feature exploding helicopters? Black Op insurgences into enemy territory? Bring hand wraps on Monday night to the intermediate class and find out*
*Operation: Strike is completely optional, so if striking is not your thing - don't panic, leave the wraps at home and don't worry about it!
Mostly blind albino hunch back dwarf seeks same for fun and maybe more. willing to travel....... oh wait wrong site ah hmmm i will guess operation strike is a cunning plan to develop our striking! i know this because i regularly stalk the lads training while im out injured! do i still get a guard pass mark??? ah go on!
I wasn't there so i assume that op strike is the creation of the ultimate fighting creature. One much splice the genes of an octopus for all the arms, the anger of 7 drunk midgets, the dexterity of a spider monkey and the ultimate weapon the hypnotic gaze ability of the mexican staring frog of southern sri lanka Codename: Operation Strike . (That answer is worth at least 5 passes)
First one in the bag and it ran off a little less smoothly than I had hoped. Next time I will plan better to make sure we get enough rolling done in time to successfully implement Operation: Strike at a reasonable hour!
Is operation strike anything to do with the major offencive initiated by the galactic empire in response to their loss at the battle of turkana??? If it is count me in...
In a tremendous C class match up Paul took his second MMA win at 2 minues 30 seconds of the firs round by arm bar. Paul's opponent was game and capable in all ranges, but the dauntless Delaney was able to take his measure and emerge on top. The two combatants engaged in a stand up battle, Ryan Sloan of the the Dog Pound in Newry landed a thunderous leg kick that drew a huge response from his home crowd. Paul returned fire with a right straight left hook combination. The pair entered the clinch and it went back and forth, Sloan landed a knee to Paul's leg and got a takedown. He was unable to hold Paul down however, Paul swept him and got a top position. He stood up and the match returned to the feet. A back and forth tussle ensued and the match returned to the deck with Delaney on top, as he maneuvred to regain his feet he spotted Sloan's arm out of position and spun for the arm bar. A few seconds later the tap came and Paul had won his second fight in as many matches.
Huge congratulations to Paul, who has worked extremely hard in the gym over the past number of weeks, often coming in during the day and returning again for class that evening. His win was well deserved and is sure to be the second of many.
Paul Delaney just made weight for Ultimate Conflict III 'Anarchy', this event will take place at the Mourne Country Hotel in Newry on Friday 1st May (tomorrow at time of writing). Doors open at 7pm with the opening fight starting at 8pm.
In what is a pretty stacked card Paul is facing off against Ryan Sloan from the Dog Pound in Newry, he also comes to the event at 1 and 0 in C class MMA, so one of these men will be going home tomorrow without their winning streak. Anyone who has seen Paul putting in the time in the gym, these last few weeks and in the months coming up to Tribal Warfare 4, knows he has certainly put in the effort and deserves to put another win on his record.
